Unos 31 minutos despu\u00e9s, la nave se separ\u00f3 de la segunda etapa del cohete y continu\u00f3 el recorrido por sus propios medios. Los controladores establecieron comunicaci\u00f3n durante el ascenso y confirmaron el funcionamiento de los sistemas iniciales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Su destino es el segundo punto de Lagrange Sol-Tierra, conocido como L2, donde permanecer\u00e1 unos tres meses, tiempo durante el cual los equipos encender\u00e1n, probar\u00e1n y calibrar\u00e1n los instrumentos antes del comienzo de la actividad cient\u00edfica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los primeros pasos ya se completaron. Los paneles solares quedaron desplegados poco despu\u00e9s de abandonar el lanzador y, el 31 de agosto, el veh\u00edculo realiz\u00f3 una maniobra de casi tres minutos para ajustar el rumbo. Tambi\u00e9n extendi\u00f3 la antena de alta ganancia y un parasol encargado de impedir que la luz no deseada ingrese al conjunto \u00f3ptico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La nueva plataforma buscar\u00e1 respuestas sobre algunos de los grandes interrogantes de la astronom\u00eda moderna. Entre sus objetivos aparecen el estudio de la materia y la energ\u00eda oscuras, la evoluci\u00f3n del cosmos y la b\u00fasqueda de planetas fuera del Sistema Solar. Su capacidad para observar grandes regiones permitir\u00e1, adem\u00e1s, generar un enorme archivo de informaci\u00f3n disponible para la comunidad cient\u00edfica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Una de sus principales caracter\u00edsticas est\u00e1 en el campo de visi\u00f3n. El espejo primario mide 2,4 metros de di\u00e1metro, una dimensi\u00f3n similar a la del Hubble, pero el instrumento principal podr\u00e1 abarcar una superficie del cielo al menos cien veces mayor. Esa combinaci\u00f3n permitir\u00e1 realizar relevamientos extensos con un nivel de detalle que, hasta ahora, requer\u00eda numerosas observaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"767\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Telescopio2-1-767x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Telescopio2-1-767x1024.jpeg 767w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Telescopio2-1-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Telescopio2-1-768x1025.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Telescopio2-1-1151x1536.jpeg 1151w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Telescopio2-1.jpeg 1439w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 100vw, 767px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El Wide Field Instrument ser\u00e1 la herramienta central para esa tarea. A trav\u00e9s de im\u00e1genes y espectros en longitudes de onda infrarrojas, podr\u00e1 estudiar grandes poblaciones de galaxias y reconstruir c\u00f3mo cambi\u00f3 la estructura del cosmos a trav\u00e9s del tiempo. La cantidad de informaci\u00f3n prevista oblig\u00f3 a incorporar una antena capaz de transmitir hasta 500 megabits por segundo hacia estaciones terrestres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A bordo tambi\u00e9n viaja el Coronagraph Instrument, dise\u00f1ado para bloquear el brillo de estrellas cercanas y observar objetos mucho m\u00e1s d\u00e9biles en sus alrededores. Esta demostraci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica pondr\u00e1 a prueba recursos destinados a obtener im\u00e1genes directas de exoplanetas y discos de material donde pueden formarse nuevos mundos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El nombre de la misi\u00f3n rinde homenaje a Nancy Grace Roman, primera astr\u00f3noma jefa de la agencia estadounidense y una figura decisiva en el impulso de observatorios fuera de la atm\u00f3sfera. Su trabajo contribuy\u00f3 a sentar las bases que, d\u00e9cadas despu\u00e9s, hicieron posible el Hubble, raz\u00f3n por la cual es recordada como una de las grandes impulsoras de la astronom\u00eda espacial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El viaje hacia L2 continuar\u00e1 durante las pr\u00f3ximas semanas, mientras avanzan las verificaciones. El coron\u00f3grafo ya comenz\u00f3 su activaci\u00f3n, y luego llegar\u00e1 el turno del instrumento de campo amplio. Si el cronograma se cumple, las primeras im\u00e1genes ser\u00e1n difundidas a comienzos de 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Roman entra as\u00ed en una etapa en la que cada maniobra permitir\u00e1 preparar una herramienta concebida para observar una porci\u00f3n mucho mayor del cielo. Despu\u00e9s del exitoso despegue, el pr\u00f3ximo desaf\u00edo ser\u00e1 completar la puesta en servicio y comenzar una misi\u00f3n que, durante al menos cinco a\u00f1os, intentar\u00e1 aportar
