A bordo de la nave Ori\u00f3n, hac\u00edan historia tres estadounidenses: el comandante Reid Wiseman, el piloto Victor Glover la ingeniera Christina Koch; y tambi\u00e9n el especialista de misi\u00f3n Jeremy Hansen,\u00a0de la\u00a0agencia espacial canadiense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"239\" height=\"211\" src=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/SLS-y-Tierra_ESA.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17942\" style=\"width:610px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>En esta primera etapa, no estaba previsto que los astronautas pisen el suelo lunar, sino que orbiten el sat\u00e9lite durante 10 d\u00edas, con una trayectoria en forma de \u201cinfinito\u201d, y pasen a 10 000 km de su superficie, el m\u00e1ximo acercamiento logrado hasta la fecha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El cohete SLS, de la compa\u00f1\u00eda Boeing, es temido por presentar fugas de combustible que obligan a planificar m\u00e1s de una ventana de lanzamiento. De hecho, la fecha original no pudo respetarse por este y otros problemas vitales, como las fallas en los sistemas de comunicaci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, esta vez, a medida que la cuenta regresiva se acercaba a su fin, los controladores de lanzamiento dieron luz verde y encendieron el cohete en el primer intento, y concretaron el despegue casi al comienzo de la ventana prevista de dos horas. Los mismos astronautas quedaron at\u00f3nitos, seg\u00fan reconoci\u00f3 Victor Glover desde el espacio el jueves, durante un evento p\u00fablico en vivo. \u201cFue sorprendente\u201d, expres\u00f3 mientras compart\u00eda sonrisas c\u00f3mplices y risas con sus compa\u00f1eros de tripulaci\u00f3n, y continu\u00f3: \u201cNos gusta decir que estamos preparados sin tener expectativas, pero, en el fondo, uno espera despegar. Y luego, cuando ya est\u00e1bamos muy cerca, fue como \u2018Espera, \u00bfde verdad nos estamos preparando para ir al espacio?\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una vez que el cohete alcanz\u00f3 una altura de 70 000 km, Ori\u00f3n logr\u00f3 separarse y orbitar la Tierra. Esta instancia resulta clave, ya que los astronautas deciden en ese momento si contin\u00faan o no con la misi\u00f3n. En caso de una falla sin soluci\u00f3n, el regreso a la Tierra ser\u00eda relativamente sencillo, pero, para alivio de millones de espectadores y de todos los involucrados en el programa Artemis, la nave logr\u00f3 encender su motor principal, liberarse de la gravedad terrestre y marchar rumbo a la Luna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un d\u00eda despu\u00e9s del lanzamiento de la primera misi\u00f3n tripulada a las cercan\u00edas de la Luna en m\u00e1s de 50 a\u00f1os, la nave llev\u00f3 a cabo lo que se conoce como \u201cinyecci\u00f3n traslunar\u201d. Esta maniobra no solamente coloca a los astronautas en el camino hacia su objetivo, sino que tambi\u00e9n les garantiza una trayectoria libre, lo que les permite utilizar la gravedad de nuestro sat\u00e9lite natural para su regreso a la Tierra. Seg\u00fan estimaciones de la NASA, la tripulaci\u00f3n de Artemis II alcanzar\u00e1 los 405 548 kil\u00f3metros de distancia de la Tierra, y superar\u00eda as\u00ed el r\u00e9cord de la del Apolo 13 en 5417 kil\u00f3metros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" src=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Artemis_crew.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17943\" style=\"width:609px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La relevancia del programa Artemis&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All\u00e1 por noviembre de 2022, la misi\u00f3n Artemis I\u200b marc\u00f3 el regreso de la NASA a la exploraci\u00f3n lunar, inactiva desde el cierre oficial del Programa Apolo, en 1972. Luego de m\u00faltiples aplazamientos y dos intentos fallidos, la misi\u00f3n no tripulada concret\u00f3 su lanzamiento en lo que fue el primer gran vuelo espacial del programa hom\u00f3nimo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Artemis II se basa en el \u00e9xito del Artemis I y demostrar\u00e1 una amplia gama de capacidades necesarias en misiones al espacio profundo. La operaci\u00f3n fue dise\u00f1ada para realizar un vuelo de prueba de diez d\u00edas, que recorrer\u00e1 una distancia de 460 000 km, y viajar\u00e1 m\u00e1s lejos de la Tierra que cualquier otra misi\u00f3n tripulada en la historia. El objetivo principal es validar los sistemas vitales antes de volver a la Luna, lo que habilitar\u00e1 futuras misiones humanas de mayor complejidad, con Marte como destino
