Artemis II, prevista para principios de febrero de 2026, no llevar\u00e1 astronautas a la superficie lunar. Ser\u00e1, en cambio, el primer vuelo de una tripulaci\u00f3n al entorno del sat\u00e9lite natural por primera vez desde el final del programa Apolo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La misi\u00f3n enviar\u00e1 a cuatro astronautas a bordo de la nave Orion en un viaje de sobrevuelo alrededor de la Luna. Durante unos diez d\u00edas, la c\u00e1psula recorrer\u00e1 una trayectoria de espacio profundo que la llevar\u00e1 m\u00e1s lejos de la Tierra que cualquier vuelo tripulado en m\u00e1s de medio siglo. El foco estar\u00e1 puesto en comprobar, en condiciones reales, que todos los sistemas funcion<ins>e<\/ins>n tal como fueron dise\u00f1ados: soporte vital, navegaci\u00f3n, comunicaciones, propulsi\u00f3n y protecci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica. Tambi\u00e9n ser\u00e1 la primera vez que el cohete Space Launch System opere con tripulaci\u00f3n humana, un hito clave para el futuro del programa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde la NASA remarcan que no se trata de una misi\u00f3n \u201cde paso\u201d, sino de una instancia cr\u00edtica. \u201cAntes de enviar astronautas a la superficie lunar, debemos demostrar que podemos llevarlos de forma segura hasta all\u00ed y traerlos de regreso\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 la agencia en su documentaci\u00f3n oficial sobre Artemis II. El objetivo es establecer una presencia humana sostenida y usar esa experiencia como plataforma para misiones m\u00e1s lejanas, incluida la exploraci\u00f3n tripulada de Marte en la pr\u00f3xima d\u00e9cada. En ese esquema, cada misi\u00f3n cumple un rol espec\u00edfico dentro de una arquitectura escalonada, donde nada se deja librado al azar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En paralelo al vuelo tripulado, otro componente avanza lejos del protagonismo medi\u00e1tico. Se trata del Blue Moon Mark 1, un m\u00f3dulo de descenso lunar desarrollado por la compa\u00f1\u00eda Blue Origin como parte de la estrategia de la NASA para llevar carga a la superficie del sat\u00e9lite. Su funci\u00f3n principal es transportar equipos, instrumentos y elementos de infraestructura. Seg\u00fan la empresa, el m\u00f3dulo podr\u00e1 llevar hasta tres toneladas de carga y est\u00e1 pensado para ser lanzado por el cohete New Glenn, que<ins>,<\/ins>&nbsp;en la actualidad, est\u00e1 en desarrollo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLa exploraci\u00f3n sostenible de la Luna requiere empezar por la log\u00edstica\u201d, explicaron desde Blue Origin al presentar el proyecto. En ese sentido, el Mark 1 act\u00faa como un demostrador tecnol\u00f3gico: prueba sistemas de propulsi\u00f3n, manejo de combustible criog\u00e9nico, comunicaciones y aterrizaje controlado, todos elementos esenciales para futuras versiones que s\u00ed podr\u00edan transportar astronautas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La divisi\u00f3n de tareas es clara. Artemis II se concentra en validar el vuelo humano en espacio profundo y sentar las bases operativas del programa. Blue Moon Mark 1, en cambio, apunta a preparar el terreno, literalmente, para lo que vendr\u00e1 despu\u00e9s. Reci\u00e9n cuando ambos caminos confluyan, la NASA podr\u00e1 avanzar hacia nuevas misiones con alunizajes tripulados, previstas en fases posteriores del programa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As\u00ed, lejos de la imagen rom\u00e1ntica del primer paso sobre la Luna, la exploraci\u00f3n avanza con una l\u00f3gica m\u00e1s silenciosa y met\u00f3dica. Cada sistema se prueba por separado, cada riesgo se reduce antes de dar el siguiente salto.
