Estas unidades, desarrolladas por Lockheed Martin, integran la fase denominada Tranche 1 y est\u00e1n destinadas a brindar conectividad de baja latencia entre sensores, plataformas y usuarios en tierra. El prop\u00f3sito es establecer un sistema de enlace capaz de transmitir informaci\u00f3n t\u00e1ctica en tiempo real mediante una constelaci\u00f3n distribuida en \u00f3rbita baja que aumente la resiliencia y la velocidad de intercambio de datos en escenarios estrat\u00e9gicos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El despegue se efectu\u00f3 a bordo de un cohete Falcon 9 de SpaceX. La SDA prev\u00e9 mantener el ritmo de una misi\u00f3n mensual durante los pr\u00f3ximos nueve meses para completar el conjunto de ciento cincuenta y cuatro aparatos planificados para esta etapa. De ese total, ciento veintis\u00e9is corresponden a la etapa de transporte y veintiocho a la de seguimiento, centrada en la detecci\u00f3n temprana de amenazas desde el espacio. Este enfoque modular busca articular una comunicaci\u00f3n segura y una constante observaci\u00f3n, elementos clave para las operaciones conjuntas y defensa avanzada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan explic\u00f3 el director interino del organismo, G. P. Sandhoo, el despliegue representa la aplicaci\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctica de tecnolog\u00edas que, hasta hace pocos a\u00f1os, permanec\u00edan en fase experimental. Mediante un modelo de desarrollo progresivo, la SDA planea incorporar nuevas generaciones de plataformas cada dos a\u00f1os para asegurar la interoperabilidad entre los distintos sistemas. Sandhoo destac\u00f3 que la entidad est\u00e1 \u201cacelerando la entrega de capacidades que antes se consideraban inviables desde \u00f3rbita baja\u201d, una afirmaci\u00f3n que resume la ambici\u00f3n de convertir el espacio en un entorno integrado con las fuerzas terrestres y a\u00e9reas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WF-3Final-VP.jpg.pc-adaptive.990.medium-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17484\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WF-3Final-VP.jpg.pc-adaptive.990.medium-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WF-3Final-VP.jpg.pc-adaptive.990.medium-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WF-3Final-VP.jpg.pc-adaptive.990.medium.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Los artefactos fabricados por Lockheed Martin incorporan el&nbsp;bus&nbsp;Terran Orbital, enlaces \u00f3pticos entre los sat\u00e9lites, comunicaciones en banda Ka y la plataforma de&nbsp;<em>software<\/em>&nbsp;SmartSat, que permite actualizar las funciones directamente en \u00f3rbita mediante cargas digitales. Este enfoque reduce los costos de mantenimiento, ampl\u00eda la flexibilidad operativa y facilita adaptaciones r\u00e1pidas frente a amenazas emergentes como misiles hipers\u00f3nicos o interferencias electr\u00f3nicas. La compa\u00f1\u00eda subray\u00f3 que la combinaci\u00f3n de&nbsp;<em>hardware<\/em>&nbsp;robusto y sistemas reconfigurables constituye uno de los pilares de su aporte al proyecto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El env\u00edo de octubre es el segundo dentro de la campa\u00f1a de Tranche 1. La primera tanda, tambi\u00e9n lanzada con un Falcon 9, permiti\u00f3 validar los enlaces \u00f3pticos y comprobar la interoperabilidad de las distintas capas. La SDA planea mantener la secuencia de misiones mensuales hasta completar el despliegue de la flota, que ser\u00e1 controlada desde los centros de operaciones ubicados en la base a\u00e9rea de Grand Forks, en Dakota del Norte, y en Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Desde all\u00ed se supervisar\u00e1n las \u00f3rbitas, la informaci\u00f3n y la coordinaci\u00f3n con las unidades t\u00e1cticas que utilizar\u00e1n el sistema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La infraestructura operar\u00e1 en trayectorias cercanas a los mil kil\u00f3metros de altitud y ofrecer\u00e1 el soporte a enlaces seguros mediante los protocolos Link 16, UHF y S-band. Estos canales mantendr\u00e1n conectadas las distintas ramas de las fuerzas armadas con una estructura que, a diferencia de los sat\u00e9lites geoestacionarios tradicionales, resulta m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil de neutralizar y puede reconfigurarse en cuesti\u00f3n de minutos. Con esta arquitectura, la SDA apunta a crear una malla espacial descentralizada que combine rapidez, redundancia y seguridad en la transmisi\u00f3n de datos cr\u00edticos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Estos lanzamientos no solo refuerzan la posici\u00f3n estadounidense en el \u00e1mbito espacial, sino que tambi\u00e9n impulsan a empresas como Lockheed Martin y SpaceX a avanzar en capacidades industriales y tecnol\u00f3gicas orientadas al campo de la defensa. Con cada misi\u00f3n, la PWSA se consolida como una de las iniciativas m\u00e1s ambiciosas de la actualidad, dise\u00f1ada para garantizar enlaces resilientes, cobertura global y una ventaja
