Este logro, llevado a cabo mediante el Experimento del Receptor GNSS Lunar (LuGRE), marca la primera vez que se utiliza tecnolog\u00eda de navegaci\u00f3n terrestre en la Luna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La implicaci\u00f3n de este \u00e9xito es enorme ya que futuras misiones lunares, como las del programa Artemis, podr\u00e1n determinar su posici\u00f3n, velocidad y tiempo, de manera aut\u00f3noma y precisa, algo que facilitar\u00e1 la exploraci\u00f3n y abrir\u00e1 la puerta a sistemas de navegaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s avanzados para la Luna y Marte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cEn la Tierra, podemos utilizar se\u00f1ales GNSS para navegar en cualquier cosa, desde tel\u00e9fonos inteligentes hasta aviones\u201d, dijo Kevin Coggins, administrador asociado adjunto del Programa SCaN (Comunicaciones y Navegaci\u00f3n Espacial) de la NASA. \u201cAhora, LuGRE nos muestra que podemos adquirir y rastrear con \u00e9xito se\u00f1ales GNSS en la Luna. Este es un descubrimiento muy emocionante para la navegaci\u00f3n lunar y esperamos aprovechar esta capacidad para futuras misiones\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Todo comenz\u00f3 el 2 de marzo con el exitoso alunizaje del m\u00f3dulo Blue Ghost de Firefly Aerospace, que transportaba una pieza clave: el LuGRE. Esta carga \u00fatil, parte de un conjunto de diez experimentos de la NASA para avanzar en la ciencia lunar, fue depositada suavemente en la superficie. Poco despu\u00e9s, los expertos del Centro de Vuelo Espacial Goddard de la NASA, en Maryland, pusieron en marcha la primera fase de operaciones cient\u00edficas, un hecho que marc\u00f3 el inicio de un nuevo cap\u00edtulo en la exploraci\u00f3n lunar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"763\" src=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/95132_O-1024x763.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15937\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/95132_O-1024x763.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/95132_O-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/95132_O-768x572.jpg 768w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/95132_O.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfC\u00f3mo fue el proceso?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La anticipaci\u00f3n crec\u00eda a medida que los datos del receptor LuGRE llegaban a la Tierra. La pregunta de los especialistas era si una misi\u00f3n lunar podr\u00eda captar y rastrear se\u00f1ales de dos sistemas de navegaci\u00f3n global, GPS y Galileo, para navegar en la superficie del sat\u00e9lite. La inc\u00f3gnita se resolvi\u00f3 a las 2 a. M. (EST) del 3 de marzo, cuando lograron captar y rastrear se\u00f1ales en la Luna, y establecieron una posici\u00f3n de navegaci\u00f3n a unas 225 000 millas de la Tierra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La misi\u00f3n Blue Ghost tiene una duraci\u00f3n de 14 d\u00edas, durante los cuales se recopilar\u00e1n datos valiosos para futuras misiones lunares. Adem\u00e1s de este logro hist\u00f3rico, LuGRE ya hab\u00eda roto r\u00e9cords durante su viaje a la Luna. El 21 de enero, super\u00f3 el de altitud de adquisici\u00f3n de se\u00f1al GNSS, ya que alcanz\u00f3 las 209 900 millas de la Tierra, y continu\u00f3 batiendo marcas hasta llegar a la \u00f3rbita lunar. Estos avances demuestran el potencial de utilizar se\u00f1ales GNSS para la navegaci\u00f3n en el espacio cislunar, el \u00e1rea entre la Tierra y la Luna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tradicionalmente, la NASA rastrea las naves espaciales con la combinaci\u00f3n de sensores y se\u00f1ales de estaciones terrestres. El LuGRE indica que las se\u00f1ales GNSS pueden permitir una navegaci\u00f3n aut\u00f3noma y reducir la dependencia de los operadores humanos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este proyecto es una colaboraci\u00f3n entre el Centro de Vuelo Espacial Goddard de la NASA y la Agencia Espacial Italiana, financiado por el programa SCaN de la NASA y seleccionado como parte de la iniciativa de Servicios de Carga Lunar Comercial.
