{"id":15829,"date":"2025-02-12T13:45:46","date_gmt":"2025-02-12T13:45:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.0.98\/?p=15829"},"modified":"2025-02-12T13:45:46","modified_gmt":"2025-02-12T13:45:46","slug":"spherex-un-telescopio-espacial-para-cartografiar-la-historia-del-universo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/?p=15829","title":{"rendered":"SPHEREx: un telescopio espacial para cartografiar la historia del universo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>El telescopio espacial \u201cEspectrofot\u00f3metro para la historia del universo en la \u00e9poca de la reionizaci\u00f3n y explorador de hielos\u201d (SPHEREx, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) de la NASA ser\u00e1 lanzado pronto a la \u00f3rbita terrestre, desde donde comenzar\u00e1 a cartografiar todo el cielo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En una intrigante misi\u00f3n, promete revolucionar la comprensi\u00f3n humana del universo, ya que proporcionar\u00e1 informaci\u00f3n valiosa sobre el origen de los elementos esenciales para la vida, la formaci\u00f3n y evoluci\u00f3n de las galaxias, los inicios de la creaci\u00f3n y la inflaci\u00f3n c\u00f3smica \u2013una teor\u00eda que explica c\u00f3mo el universo se expandi\u00f3 extremadamente r\u00e1pido en los primeros momentos despu\u00e9s del Big Bang\u2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Se trata de un instrumento con forma de meg\u00e1fono que medir\u00e1 casi 2,6 metros (8,5 pies) de altura y se extender\u00e1 hasta casi 3,2 metros (10,5 pies) de ancho. Lo que le da esta apariencia son sus escudos de fotones en forma de cono, que son ensamblados en una sala limpia en el Laboratorio de propulsi\u00f3n a chorro (JPL, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) de la NASA, en el sur de California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/NASA-MAPEA-COSMOS-4-2-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15831\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/NASA-MAPEA-COSMOS-4-2-819x1024.jpg 819w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/NASA-MAPEA-COSMOS-4-2-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/NASA-MAPEA-COSMOS-4-2-768x960.jpg 768w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/NASA-MAPEA-COSMOS-4-2.jpg 917w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Tres conos, cada uno metido dentro del otro, rodear\u00e1n a este telescopio para protegerlo de la luz y el calor del Sol y la Tierra. El instrumento barrer\u00e1 cada secci\u00f3n del cielo, como al escanear el interior de un globo terr\u00e1queo, para completar dos mapas de todo el cielo cada a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan la NASA, ser\u00e1 lanzado a m\u00e1s tardar en abril de 2025 y tendr\u00e1 el objetivo de medir la cantidad de hielo en las nubes interestelares de gas y polvo, lugar donde nacen nuevas estrellas y de las que, con el tiempo, se forman planetas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, estudiar\u00e1 la historia de las galaxias en el espacio al medir la luz colectiva que producen. Estos datos ayudar\u00e1n a descubrir cu\u00e1ndo comenzaron a formarse y c\u00f3mo cambiaron a trav\u00e9s del tiempo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al cartografiar la ubicaci\u00f3n relativa de millones de galaxias entre s\u00ed, SPHEREx buscar\u00e1 nuevas pistas sobre c\u00f3mo tuvo lugar la r\u00e1pida expansi\u00f3n \u2013o inflaci\u00f3n\u2013 del universo una fracci\u00f3n de segundo despu\u00e9s del Big Bang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/NASA-MAPEA-EL-COSMOS-4-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15832\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/NASA-MAPEA-EL-COSMOS-4-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/NASA-MAPEA-EL-COSMOS-4-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/NASA-MAPEA-EL-COSMOS-4-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/NASA-MAPEA-EL-COSMOS-4.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>El dispositivo est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para detectar una luz especial llamada infrarroja que irradian los objetos c\u00e1lidos como el sol e incluso el telescopio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si SPHEREx elevara su propia temperatura, \u201cver\u00eda\u201d su propia radiaci\u00f3n de calor, algo que podr\u00eda interferir con las mediciones que est\u00e1 haciendo, ya que confundir\u00eda la luz que quiere detectar con la que est\u00e1 emitiendo por su propio calor. Es por eso que el aparato debe estar a temperaturas muy fr\u00edas, por debajo de los 210 grados Celsius, solo para asegurar que revele radiaci\u00f3n que proviene del espacio y no la de su propio funcionamiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otra de sus caracter\u00edsticas es que tiene un escudo especial que bloquea la luz y el calor del Sol y la Tierra para evitar que interfieran en las mediciones. Tiene lo que denominan \u201cradiador de ranura en V\u201d, que presenta tres espejos que funcionan como una especie de paraguas al rev\u00e9s, cuya funci\u00f3n es la de redirigir la radiaci\u00f3n de calor hacia el espacio sideral.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El telescopio SPHEREx est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado de forma inteligente: est\u00e1 inclinado sobre su base para poder observar la mayor parte del cielo posible sin salir de la protecci\u00f3n de sus escudos contra el calor. Fue construido por la empresa Ball Aerospace en Colorado y, luego, en California, se le a\u00f1adieron las partes que detectan la luz y el sistema que lo mantiene bien fr\u00edo. Despu\u00e9s, en un laboratorio de la NASA, lo hicieron temblar como si estuviera en un cohete. As\u00ed se aseguraron de que resistir\u00e1 el viaje al espacio. Sin embargo, la clave para &#8220;ver&#8221; en longitudes de onda infrarrojas reside en sus detectores. Una estrella como nuestro sol emite radiaci\u00f3n electromagn\u00e9tica en un amplio espectro de longitudes de onda visibles, lo que resulta en su apariencia blanca. Un prisma, como sabemos, puede dispersar esta luz en sus componentes de longitud de onda individuales y producir un espectro arco\u00edris. Este proceso se denomina espectroscop\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SPHEREx emplea un enfoque similar, pero en el rango infrarrojo. Para lograr esto, se instalaron filtros justo encima de sus detectores. Esto permitir\u00e1 a los cient\u00edficos determinar las longitudes de onda infrarrojas particulares emitidas por el objeto, ya sea una estrella individual o una galaxia en su conjunto. En total, SPHEREx es capaz de discernir m\u00e1s de 100 longitudes de onda distintas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A partir de este an\u00e1lisis espectrosc\u00f3pico detallado, SPHEREx generar\u00e1 mapas del
