Seg\u00fan los cient\u00edficos, las mejores horas para la observaci\u00f3n de este fen\u00f3meno fueron entre la 1 y las 3 de la madrugada. Sin embargo, este no fue un buen a\u00f1o, puesto que su momento de mayor actividad se produjo dos d\u00edas despu\u00e9s de la Luna llena, suceso que opac\u00f3 su visibilidad. A\u00fan as\u00ed, pudieron verse entre 15 a 20 meteoros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este acontecimiento se produce cada a\u00f1o, entre el 6 y el 30 de noviembre, y alcanza su m\u00e1xima intensidad cada 33 a\u00f1os. Aunque las Le\u00f3nidas parecen venir de la constelaci\u00f3n de Leo (de ah\u00ed su nombre), se pueden ver en cualquier parte del cielo.\u00a0El punto de origen de la lluvia de estrellas se denomina &#8220;radiante&#8221; y su localizaci\u00f3n se utiliza para nombrarla.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aeroespacio.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/leonidas-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11768\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Los meteoros de las Le\u00f3nidas son fragmentos del cometa 55P\/Tempel-Tuttle, que fue descubierto en 1865. Como todos los a\u00f1os en estas fechas, la Tierra atraviesa un anillo poblado con los fragmentos desprendidos por el cometa en sus anteriores pasos cerca del Sol. Cuando uno de esos meteoroides entra en contacto con la atm\u00f3sfera terrestre a altas velocidades, entre 11 y 70 km\/s, se vaporiza por la fricci\u00f3n con el aire y crea el resplandor luminoso que conocemos como \u201cmeteoro\u201d o \u201cestrella fugaz\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Se estima que, entre el 4 y 17 de diciembre pr\u00f3ximo, se ver\u00e1n las Gem\u00ednidas, la \u00faltima tormenta estelar del a\u00f1o, considerada como la m\u00e1s intensa del 2024. Su origen es el asteroides 3200 Phaethon, que no es un cometa y es particular en su clase por sus meteoros brillantes y coloridos, lo que lo convierte en una excelente opci\u00f3n para los observadores aficionados y urbanos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo poder ver una lluvia de estrellas?<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El lugar de observaci\u00f3n puede ser cualquiera que proporcione un cielo oscuro. Es preferible que tenga pocos obst\u00e1culos para la vista (como edificios, \u00e1rboles o monta\u00f1as) y no utilizar instrumentos \u00f3pticos que limiten el campo de visi\u00f3n. Conviene dirigir la mirada hacia las zonas m\u00e1s oscuras, en la direcci\u00f3n opuesta a la posici\u00f3n de la Luna si la observaci\u00f3n se realiza cuando est\u00e1 presente.
